What is the best use of my time right now
I have been attending training workshops with CEED every two weeks; workshops aimed at giving small business owners support as they start their businesses.
Tonight, the workshop “Becoming Dispensable”, was presented by Rick MacLennan of MACINK Consulting-Coaching. I went to this workshop not quite clear what it would be about, and find myself leaving, having retained one very important question that all business owners should consider…“What is the best use of my time right now?”
The intent of this question is to keep your business plans and goals on track – whatever they may be. Whether your goal is to grow your business to turn it over to family, or to sell it, or even to shut the doors when you decide; you need to be constantly planning how to get to your desired end result.
For me, starting my business as a Virtual Assistant (VA), the best use of my time right now is getting the word out regarding the services I offer to other small business owners; which funny enough, the services I offer, can help others answer this same question.
Are you a professional or small business owner? How do you deal with the time consuming tasks that you need to do to run your business and be successful? Are they taking up too much time and causing frustration? Have you asked yourself, “What is the best use of my time right now?”
If you are a Realtor? Is your time best spent sorting through your contacts and making a database so you can connect and followup on a regular basis, or is it better to be showing houses to clients and making a sale?
Do you own a consulting business? Is your time best spent figuring out how to create and send out a monthly newsletter or brochure to your clients and contacts, or it it better to be delivering training sessions?
You may find that by hiring a VA to do some of these tasks, you will have more time to dedicate to the business that directly generates your revenue. Virtual Assistance is an industry growing daily and many VAs do specialized and varied tasks, customized to your needs. There is a VA somewhere to suit any business need: word processing; email and voice mail management; preparation of workshop packages; maintaining your website and blog; creating and emailing your monthly newsletter.
So… think about your plans for your business. Are you making the best use of your time in order to reach your goals? If not, contact a Virtual Assistant and learn how they can help you reach your business goals.
Make the most of your time to get the most out of your business!
